Digital Computer Lab (DCL)
The Digital Computer Laboratory was the original home of the Computer Science department. It was originally constructed in 1958 as a two-story building. It received its first addition in 1967. By the early 1980's the department had outgrown the available space. A second addition was completed in 1989 which added a third floor and wrapped the old building on three sides creating an open space flooded with natural light. By the late 1990's the department was again outgrowing the available space in DCL.
In late Fall 2003 the department moved to its new home in the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science. The department will continue to use the two large classrooms and the first floor instructional labs which are located in DCL.
