Engineer in Residence: Max Levchin

Max Levchin
Max graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1997 when he
also co-founded two companies that made Internet-tools,
NetMeridian Software and SponsorNet New Media. He founded
PayPal in 1998, and took the company public in February 2002.
PayPal is the most widely used service of its kind and has been cited by globalization guru Thomas Friedman, as the 3rd catalyst in leveling the playing field for people around the world.
Max is primarily known for his contributions to PayPal's
anti-fraud efforts and is also the co-creator of the
Gausebeck-Levchin test, one of the first commercial
implementations of a Captcha.
Max's new company,
Slide is focused on helping people find, play, and share the
media they care about by creating convenient ways to publish and
view the heaps of digital content produced today, from mobile
phone photos to podcasts.
